1. Get a compression gauge (basically a pressure gauge with a nozzle that can fit on the spark plug hole) 2. Remove the spark plug and screw the said gauge in 3. Put the gear in neutral, and use the wrench to turn the engine through two revolutions, keeping your eye on the gauge, note the highest pressure then keep spinning till it hits the highest pressure point. 4. Keep the engine at that position, watch the gauge - it should stay still (no leak down) 5. proceed for the other cylinders. Then check with the owners manual on acceptable pressure values (or google it)
