Hi Wash,
I'm Sorry I forgot to paste the link, but it'll prolly top your google results and it's FOSS. Perhaps I should tweak my MD more but already I do get false +ves due to RBL'd mail servers for some local ISPs. The AV engine as you say is just bells and whistles if u ask me. It uses Kaspersky defns but doesnt seem to detect malware. So I integrated my MD with Clamwin and still viruses got thru. That's y I'm trying a third option.
Hi Simon,
I just checked the link and I must say I tested this thing some years back and it was such a pain to make work right, but again I perhaps either did not have enough time on my hands then or was simply not motivated by it's features.
Are you looking for an antivirus to integrate MDaemon with or an antispam? You are talking about ASSP (Spam Filtering) as well as
a requirement for Virus filtering.
I can tell you one thing that is for sure: Ditch Mdaemon and install a Unix box, install either Exim or Postfix. Install SpamAssassin and Clamav and integrate them. You will have a much more effective, flexible system than MDaemon - Free of charge.
If you chose Exim contact me offlist and I will do my best to help you with the setup and everything to ensure you are running. If you choose postfix, there are also resources that are very useful.
Clamwin is a desktop scanner, much more suited for the MuA than the MTA.
@SSP is a monster to run on Windows, ama kuna MDaemon for Unix?:)
