I do not advocate citizen carrying firearms. May be I am just anti-gun.
But on another note, may be it is not a bad idea to issue every Kenyan with a gun. The ensuing loss of live (for both thugs and innocent bystanders) is collateral and may be the cost the Nation needs to pay to have a safe and secure society. And then come 2012 it is all hell break loose if the election results are delayed by even an hour.
The process quiet long, I think. You need to get a certificate of good
conduct from the CID, then NSIS vets you, before sending you over to
the Central Firearms Bureau for the firearm. I think a medical
practioner must give an opinion, too. I am unsure whether your local
chief should say he knows you as a law abiding citizen!
