Hello skunks.
Allow me to rant about email blacklists, and particularly the Uceprotect Network; http://www.uceprotect.net/en
Last week, I had a spamming incidence and was listed in 3 lists. After correcting the problem, two of the lists de-listed me after 1-2 days.
On the other hand, Uceprotect level one want me to wait 7 days or pay $109 to get my IP de-listed. Seems to me like a heavy price to pay for a spamming fault.
Luckily, very few servers in the world use this list to actually block mail so my users will have to contend without being able to send mail to some domains for a few more days because I'm not ready to part with around KES 10,000 to get de-listed.
And this Uceprotect; how do they appoint themselves as email police and then ask for money on the same? I think they are in cahoots with the service providers that use them.
They should devise other methods of income apart from arm-twisting server owners.
That's what proper blacklists like Spamhaus do despite the fact that they have stringent rules about the frequency and/or recurrence of Spamming from the same hosts.
