Would you develop for a Windows Phone ? I think they may just be the lifeline for Windows Phone 7 Platform. Lets wait and see.

*Looks like Nokia is adapting to a smart phone world with organizational changes and want to focus on the developers as well.*
Reggie Hutcherson, overseeing the developer engagement programs at Nokia for Windows Phone, explains what to come out of the next days. The website http://www.developer.nokia.com does not look very pretty or engaging, but that may change. For me Nokia ranks only mildly above my hated Samsung phone, but with a decent operating system this might actually be a good new player in the market, especially given all the consumers still out there who will want to play nicely with their PCs. Working synchronisation without depending on apple hardware alone, anyone?
Nokia always were able to build solid phones, it just was the system which was not 'good enough' in terms of smart phone thinking and usually too late for the consumer.
*Faster to the market thanks to organizational restructuring*
Chris Layton over at the WSJ covered the angle of the restructuring of Nokia which also explains why the company was so quiet over the last months:
*Ms. Harlow said the changes have encouraged her smartphone teams to make decisions themselves, instead of kicking them upstairs. Their greater autonomy, she said, has helped reduce the time it takes to develop new smarthphones by 35% to 40%.*
*She declined to be more specific. But a company spokesman said that Nokia's lead time in the past matched the industry average of 18 months."It's very clear that if you are three months late, you've missed the market opportunity. So that is the issue we are addressing," said Ms. Harlow.*

So while I still do not see a Nokia again in my future, I am curious what they will come out with and how Windows OS can play into that game. This time at least they are in time for the christmas business ;)
