@gisho, i am sure jail is a bit on the extreme side, ask Sony, before they started loosing user data, they began by threatening developers with jail terms. What he will get is a cease and desist, but probably he can explore ways to make it a plugin that integrates with Gmail, like the others at Gmail Labs.
