Was in a Citi Hoppa today where they have scratched out all those "Beba" stickers. The conductor, who was busy asking for change, said "sina agent" when I asked about the Beba Card. The Beba card is a solution which would have gone very far in helping small matatu owners who have no idea how much was collected in their matatu and where it is. I also think some Eastlands saccos would have been a better pilot such as Double M (Who I hear have quite a number of cases of conductors taking off with the days earnings) and maybe others like Embassava, which appear to be more disciplined than Hoppa. Hoppa may have been a good pilot to rein in the indiscipline, but the problem here is that the crew ganged up against the card. Plus Citi Hoppa is already a step towards management.
