It might be just a rare event. The effect of Global warming are a bit far reaching for as to make a conclusion that the weather is back to normal. Im sure during that time, there was total dryness in January, but this year, it was nothing of the sort. It was rain from Dec through Jan-Feb_mar_apr... So I think its quite early to make an explicit declaration of a normal weather condition coming back. On Tue, Mar 30, 2010 at 10:33 PM, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:
Many years ago the heavy rains towards easter meant one more thing : the Safari Rally. The current heavy rains bring back wonderful memories of those days either as service crew or spectators. There was a time when Group B cars such as the Audi Quattro, Peugeot 205T16 works would compete at International level right in this country. Then came the Group A with Lancia Integrale, Ford Cosworth, Opel and others. It used to be an experience to drive over 3000kms in just 4 days with some of the Teams, in some real tough terrian. And what would the Rally be without Chulu Hills where radiators got pasted with mud or elephant grass causing cars to over heat or rivers burst banks within a matter of hours or driving in the cherengani hills with fog hanging over the slippery trails. Kenya needs its rally status back.
The natural tropical weather is back and sorry to those who will be affected by it but the good news is the weather is in its form.
