dump your udev rules like Allan says, lspci and ifconfig -a and or ip addr, resolv.conf, route -n and /etc/network/interface. Maybe I can help from there. Ubuntu handles networking very strangely, you either let network mgr do its thing or disable it and configure it manually, not both.

ping your gateway and then
do a
arp -a
and check if u have your routers MAC address. If you do, then we know that connectivity is OK on the LAN. next check that ur not filtering traffic. Maybe a firewall or some other such application.
u may want to shut down iptables and/or any other firewall security app that could be filtering this.
Also check that u can resolve addresses using ur current DNSes.
