This has been postponed for long enough. 

I am however concerned that he govt has disjointed policies. Why do they still allow importation of TV sets that are not digital ready? If not banning, at least punitively tax such sets so that importers source for those with inbuilt decoders. A regular consumer has little technical knowledge to know that the analog set he/she is buying will not work without a decoder come December 13th.

Close one door while opening another and you will guide consumption and policy implementation. 

If I walk into a shop today I am not supposed to find an analog TV set.

For the umpteenth time the government is keen on switching off the analogue signal in Nairobi on December 13th. However there seems to be conflicting reports from Media owners on this date who insist it was pushed to June 2014.

Will the government stand its ground and if so how will they enforce it ?

I would personally encourage this move to hasten the migration to 4G LTE on available frequencies.

My theory is that Media owners are fighting disruption as they will now have to fight with hundreds of small TV stations and this is a disruption they will not accommodate.
