@ Mark, What I personally like about BBM is that I choose who to add. Not like whatsapp, whereby once I instal it, my entire phonebook can access me. Apart from that, BBM messages are encrypted. With a public key nonetheless, but it makes it that bit harder to imitate my device and intercept my messages.
