Meant MAPI calendar and all those crap that C level people seem to care about. And only exchange and z-push seem to offer exchange active sync. I think a more comprehensive answers may come from a Google search of 'why is outlook so popular ' If you can find other server side technology that can provisions outlook with all those requirements, I would be grateful to know Muriithi

Okay, responding to above question but may not be obvious due to all the top posting :(
I think he would have brought it up because of the native outlook support. It was still not a good answer because the original question was on open source mail server and his answer isn't. I guess he never read the question carefully.
If outlook support is important, you may look at SOGo. If you can integrate it with z-push, you could also support mobile devices with exchange active sync
