Been on Startimes for about 2 months now. The lineup is fair but I got a problem with picture and sound quality on a number of channels. furthermore, the company seens to have locked their decoders to scan specific frequencies only. This effectively prevents your box from picking signet signals unlike Gotv that can pick Startimes FTA channels. So far I am not complaining as far as cost is concerned but they need to fix their sound especially the annoying background noise. (unless it is my box alone) On Mon, Sep 3, 2012 at 4:27 PM, Okechukwu <okechukwu@gmail.com> wrote:

Kevin,
I have heard that too, but I have also "heard" the opposite. So we need a guy who actually has one whose subscriptoin expired recently to come out and testify :-) .

Im made to understand that with Startimes, if your monthly subscription ends ( i.e if is disconnected) you still continue receiving FTA.

Startimes is a subscription service, like any other pay tv company out there. I am wondering, is there one which doesnt require a monthly subscription to watch local free to air channels ? -- Ndungi Kyalo

This lukewarmness partly stems from fear of their adversaries . . . and partly from the skepticism of men, who do not truly believe in new things unless they have actually had personal experience of them.” * (From Chapter VI of Niccoló Machiavelli,The Prince.
