SAS's license is damn expensive and thus you will find only big companies, the likes of Safaricom and banks can afford it. For companies that us it locally, I only know of Safaricom and some International Research companies like CDC,ILRI But if you get someone to train them on R, it can save the situation. There is also simplified R enterprise by Revolution Analytics (Acquired by Microsoft), you can check that too. Ahh...share what you find out about SAS. Also how many companies use it locally On Sep 16, 2015 9:25 AM, "Eva Kimathi" <evakimathi@gmail.com> wrote:
@Kennedy, they use Magpi for this purpose?

Actually I think the training for R was done by one Mr. Mimano of datadyne. They also do data collection apps for agric NGOs. He's on this list On Sep 16, 2015 8:46 AM, "Eva Kimathi" <evakimathi@gmail.com> wrote:
Thanks Kennedy, I'll check with our accounts manager

They do not as if now. I wouldn't say they do analytics even after forming a department specifically for that. On Sep 16, 2015 8:10 AM, "Eva Kimathi" <evakimathi@gmail.com> wrote:
Thank you all for the advice.
The research team is primarily agriculture based...their analyst insists that Stata is for engineering and he hasn't heard of R.
@Mosoti I will check the Enterprise guide, thank you
@Kennedy do you know if Safcom offer analytics as a service? (I wish)
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers
