Mbuthia, I have done CISA and am now studying CISSP. So maybe my opinion may count (without attracting the wrath of the wrong people on the list). The way I look at it, if you are purely a sys admin with no interest in doing IT audits, then you do CISSP. This sharpens your security faculties from a management perspective. It gives you the whole picture about IT Security. (And on that note, anyone out there who has implemented PKI?) If you are interested in IT Audits and risk management, you take CISA. This one is even done by many Accountants (Auditors) although they end up conducting quarter-backed IT audits because of their lack of technical knowhow. If you are a CISA and CISSP, then you are able to carry out much better audits, assuming you are coming from an IT background.
