My opinion is one can start with any salary, including non paying internship.
The most important thing is the line of specialization you are focussing to build on your career.
After you gain substantial skills in your line you will possess bargaining powers, companies will need you to give them solutions and give you better terms.

Hi,
I will agree with James. Also it depends on your qualification i.e fresh
graduate with already added cert like ccna or ccnp will hv more bargaining
power if he had already done some internship in busy organization. Starting
can be over 60k or so. Above Average graduate with no added cert from a
recognized institution like Moi Uni with Comp science degree can start with
40k or so. Smart person from recognized institution can start with 30k or
so. Others i.e Kemu, inorero, and the like can start with any. But my
starting was 70k in 2012 and now am doing well though, doing my CCIE Lab in
April next yr.

Evon

Evon,
Just wondering why exactly a graduate from Inorero, KEMU and others as
you call them should start with any.
