Dear Brian, I have these issues all the time as I receive gifts for my daughter from the US. Usually I just make a fuss until they reduce them... ie. cry, yell, whatever it takes. It is especially frustrating when we have things donated to the NGO and can't afford to get them from customs as they want to charge full price for them! I would love someone to give a suggestion on how to make this better, Crystal On Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 1:17 PM, Brian Ngure <brian@mystique.boldlygoingnowhere.org> wrote:
I am truly amazed at the Kenya Customs guys. I am being asked to pay more than $100 duty for GIFT items worth about $50 in a Fedex package. What kind of maths did these guys learn in school?
Anyone else had these kind of issues? And if so, how did you resolve them?
