Again prophets of doom are at it again. The quarterly profits are the best indicator of impending death or resounding success. Are Apple's going down or up? are they selling ore devices or less? Is not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. If they manage to make their maps app, usable to the level of Google, then they are solidly in the lead. At the risk of being lynched, I will say that if iPhone is to go down it will be because of the users, not Apple. While everyone else is pushing for new and 'out-of-the-box' features from the other vendors, apple fan(atic)s are making excuses and defending it based on some incredible feat they achieved some eons ago.
From the few reviews I read, apart from screen size and app ecosystem, nothing has really changed in the last few versions of iPhone.
There I said it!

@Jeff,
Apple is on the way? On the way where? If anything, Apple is on the way up.
Have you see the numbers of late? Don't confuse experimental features like eye tracking that do not work to what consumers really want. And there is a reason desktop software do not work well with mobile devices. And Apple was clever enough to know this early on and separated iOS and OS X. Microsoft has had to learn the hard way with failures associated with the Surface tablets.
Ubuntu will be a niche OS for sometime to come.
And I think Apple is the king of content and not Google. With the iTunes Store, they have made the iOS experience far much greater, with Music, Apps, TV shows, Movies, Podcasts and Learning applications.
Google is getting there, but Apple was always miles ahead of them.
And there is reason all App Store revenues (70%) go to Apple. They attract quality developers who make Apps people want to buy and use.

Here is how i see it , Black Berry failed coz they could no longer provide what i would call a personal touch , Apple is on its way unless they really reinvent themselves since people are starting to appreciate what other products are offering for much less (i know apple fans are gonna hang me) , Ubuntu (my new personal favorite) is gonna be the next big thing , desktop computing on your phone , the high end phone nowadays can achieve so much ,so why cant he OS ? and finally King droid , loved by many offer a variety of features that are not only constrained to a device type nor a particular technology and this is where the new kid on the block is trying to hit , but it will soon realise just like java which runs half of the smart devices you will need content ...thats where google comes in.... its king of content...

Rather than kill android, Samsung and the various other supporters(coz there are others) of Tizen are really trying to give themselves options. I think we can all agree that its never a a good idea to have a core business depend heavily on one supplier.

But seriously Daniel, that was a tabloid style sensational subject and I also wondered if it was necessary after clicking on the link.
