I buy your idea.

How many people do post here, we should be able  to like contribute a a minimum of 500/- to whatever amount one feels philanthropic about. So if we have the volume and Alvin/Evans become nice, then we can have a server early next year. Its Christmas, guys the cheer of giving out. I will give 1k towards this. And if I get more I will top up later on.

Will contribute 1K - as am sure 100 of us on this list can and should.

200 - can contribute - 500 bob = 100K

500 can contribute - 200 bob = 100K

300K should also take care of a 1.5Kva APC Smart UPS = about 37K.
A Mercer UPS should be more affordable - maybe 30K - not sure.

Let's get a spreadsheet done to account for the contributions.
