I would not lose sleep over this issue. People have been predicting the death of desktop applications for the last 10 years. We&#39;re still waiting.<div><br></div><div>Like all things there is  room for both. Web applications have certain advantages - ease of deployment, no OS restrictions etc. Desktop applications have theirs too -- offline use, integration with hardware, leveraging of local resources, etc.</div>
