Hi William,
I have set up studios before and the minimum requirements are as follows:

1. Sound proof room. Acoustic sound proofing works just fine.
2 . A mixer
3. A key board where possible for making jingles
4. A recording room with Mic and headsets only
5. Studio monitors and super MIC
6. Carpet the studio to facilitate sound absorption.
