I've done worse than this. I even had to animate pink, red and purple layers. (i)There are tools that can help you with colors eg pixie(u can google this).
For imformative sites like this u want to build, stick to minimal colors -id prefer black and grey for starters then try other colors cautiously.
I believe, unless one cant learn there is always a starting point.
