Thanks for the nice aphorisms, though, if you want to sit and shower praises and/or hurl blame and criticism , you're in good company. The way to get (any) govt (executive & parliament) to act on an issue is to put that issue at the top of its priority list. How do we do this? You should not concern yourself if you think this issue (high bandwidth prices) is not worthy of mention. ________________________________ From: Davis Waithaka <daviswaithaka@gmail.com> To: Skunkworks Forum <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Sent: Sat, October 17, 2009 6:59:57 AM Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] My Thoughts on A Way Out of The Murky Internet Fiasco I have always maintained, Kenyans need to learn to stop cheering magicians and start respecting builders. As a country, we cheer whenever anyone says that "...all we need is do a b c and everything will change,..overnight!" We then issue blame around as though we had paid for a magic show when it doesn't happen overnight. Real progress, change or development is built, building needs time, effort, focus, discipline, energy and a reason. Builders must get more respect and understanding from us because at the end of the day a magic trick will fade away by the end of the night - and it was a trick (it didnt really happen)...but the building will last a life-time On Fri, 2009-10-16 at 13:58 -0700, Bernard Owuor wrote:
I sympathize with the rants. Good starting point, but I think it is not a way out as long as govt is incapable of figuring out the "how to". We need to start by persuading someone that this is an issue of preeminent importance. How do we do this?
