Hello Vee Its possible to achieve both by having a shortcode(xxxx eg 2010) or a normal number (07xx xxx xxx) them the sent/received sms can be managed on a pc/laptop wich has access to internet through a PRSP(Premium Rate Service Provider), of course you can receive the smses in your phone then sent to a db stored by the PRSP or vise versa The PRSP can and almost always gives you an front-end where you can manage your smses.
