That's not quite what I call arrogance. It's just that when you tell people what they should hear, something that they already know but did not expect to come out, they end up citing arrogance:)

Take this case - do you in your right mind believe that you were going to find the battery? Does Ericsson still exist? Do you suppose/believe the successor would still be manufacturing accessories for devices discontinued 12 years ago?

Well, if telling the truth as it is equates to arrogance, if making people see sense in the K.I.S.S principle equates to arrogance, then I am not even arrogant enough, because I don't believe I am doing well enough to make people see sense in some scenarios.

On a serious note though, just walk into a shop selling batteries (pls carry the old one with you) and talk them into allowing you to compare that with all the ones they have. With some prodding, you may just find a compatible battery, not anything near original.
