For the automated calls, just put their no on your phones black list/ reject list that way you are less irritated and spend less time rushing to your phone only to find its them.

For the text messages if you have a smart phone, there are apps for efficiently deleting any incoming messages whose alpha-numeric sender is *airtel

If using the kabambe cousins for airtel like I do, ask your friends not to send u msgs on airtel for chances are u'll find it after afew days
