Gentlemen, a saying : start a fight if you are committed 100% and can follow it through to the end.
I think no one on this list has a mandate to be a cause of action, else that action will be considered illegal. The options are not many and targeting googlegroups which makes it complicated....... And at some stage in the next 2-3 years, unfortunately google is going to become a part of kenyan news for all the wrong reasons. Negligence and ignorance of one of its services that it offers is open to abuse and radicalism may possibly become a cause of loss of lives. This responsibility will be squarely on its shoulders.
There is another issue that further complicates the matter. For the short period I was added to that list, I noticed plenty of innocent bystanders. There are also local media, Ngos who are sometimes contributors on the list. While the extreme views are expressed openly on the list by others, the mature contributors have not taken any steps to correct the problem. They have silently listened to views fit for far left or right. If anything has to change, is for its members to demand for internal change and strict moderation of such views. If organizations and mature people accept the views expressed, then they too are responsible for the outcome of such discussions.
Question is : Is google aware and is it prepared for the seriousness of the outcome on kenyan scene?
Question is : Why have the list members not stopped the extreme content on the list?
Question is : email addresses are added without consent. What has google done about it?
The actions against the list could easily become a historic ICT event with backers of the list screaming about freedom of expression while the others holding it responsible for its extreme content.
Final question is : When does it become a national threat to kenya and what action that follows?
