Hi guys and gals, Bad start to the long weekend. My HP Pavilion DV6000 just died.
Fixed. I followed HP's troubleshooting instructions (which, BTW, allow you to reseat/change memory without voiding warranty) but that didn't quite work for me. The error codes are supposed to be from the LEDs, not beeps, and there were none showing up. To cut a short story long, I removed memory, HDD, battery, and forced a stuck key error. That did produce a beep and then the LED error codes showed up, indicating a memory issue. I then reassembled, did a hard reset (with CMOS battery disconnected as well), and the darn thing booted. Now I know what to try next time, though I'm not sure about the order... :) BR, S -- "A democracy is a sheep and two wolves deciding on what to have for lunch.
