For that the reason is simple, Kisumu is perceived to be the source of the Nairobi's fish.

Well its not.

Nairobi has more sources of fish from various fish farmers, but the sellers especially in markets will try convince you that its from the lakeside.

Kisumu OTOH has its main source, the lake, while there are also fish farmers around they are not as many. There is supply from other sources albeit not as many as Nairobi.

Another thing is off course the demand for fish is also higher in Kisumu

For me, I'd reeeaaallly like someone to test how much time/fuel a Mat saves by taking the Majengo->Easich->Pumwani->Ngara route as opposed to just following the traffic at City Stadium. It really bugs me.
