there are a couple of people on this mailing list on Twitter. Its a social application with focus on status updates. Recently there was a competition between Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears and CNN on who would get 1 million followers before the other. Ashton won. After twitter appeared on Oprah like a week ago, it got a number of hits. Currently there is a competition between capital fm and Easy fm to see who will get 100,000 twitter followers before the other.

I have heard about blogs, but now there is this new buzz about Twitter. Anybody locally using twitter and finding it useful?

I just registered and am following some chap called arsenal_mania and frankly speaking it is informative while being entertaining (addictive?). Which brings me to the question - are there instances of local "handles" that are worth following and are having an impact within our local socio-economic context?
