Evans, I too disagree with the 40 million figure. However, before you make your null hypothesis you are also bound to the same rules you have prescribed to Aki. Over and above the establishment of numbers, you also need definitions. What is your definition of an OSS developer?

developers or IT people in Kenya. First of all you will need to do a
thorough study to establish the number of developers in Kenya. Then
determine how many develop on OSS. And this is different from
contributing code to the global OSS community. My null hypothesis is
that there are more OSS developers in Kenya than there are on
proprietary platforms.
