*cannot connect to an unregistered network *means that the modem has not 'seen' the network. you have to wait for the network bars to show before connecting. confirm Zain reception in your area by checking if your phone can 'see' the network. If you don't have network reception its because Safaricom is a dominant network operator denying Zain network ..., I means, If no network coverage on phone, the modem wont connect. Also note that the safaricom application takes a bit longer to 'see' other networks.
