For anyone interested in a HomeTheatreInABox (HTIB), I'd highly recommend Sony Blue Ray 3D BDV-N9900 or DVD DAV-SZ1000.
Look up the specs and let me know if you're interested in any.
Wash,Audiophiles do have some strange descriptions. Its quite hard sometimes to put into words, much like wine tasting :-). Someone made an attempt at explaining here http://dtmblabber.blogspot.com/2010/07/audiophile-buzzwords-dicey-subject.htmlIn fact, with AV receivers some audiophiles are very particular with speakers. A 10 year old speaker would cost more than a year old one :-). Some picky ones would buy a brand new one and let it run a couple of days so that bass drivers could be less punchy! On Thu, Mar 13, 2014 at 12:43 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:

@Odhiambo, the audio giants prefer an AV Receiver NOT to come with speakers, that way, they can go out and buy the best speakers as per their needs. Onkyo may make excellent AVR, but not necessarily the best speakers. Its like the best of both worlds; best AVR + best speakers = audio heaven.
Not only can that Yamaha play movies, it can also play Blue Ray discs, comes with an SD card slot and USB slot as standard. So yes, it can play movies. On Thu, Mar 13, 2014 at 10:09 AM, wa <wanangu@gmail.com> wrote:

@Dennis, I'm in a similar position to you, so do tell if you make any headway with this. I'm settling for the home theatre in a box option after having looked for a an AVR-speaker package without much luck. For the bass you're looking for an active subwoofer performs better.@Bernard, pricing and speaker options? On Thu, Mar 13, 2014 at 9:24 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:
