Patrols are sluggish. They take a long time to pick up speed. It takes 7.9 seconds to hit 80 kph. Sounds like nothing now but on along trip you will get annoyed at the inability to overtake while you have oncoming traffic. Patrols are otherwise extremely robust and reliable and at one time dominated the Dakar rally due to this aspect. They since lost out to Pajero and now Touareg. If you go for the cruiser avoid the Prado unless its the 2010 version or the box prado. Prado is fast but unstable due to its narrow wheelbase and high ride height. Its an excellentoff-roadcar but poor on road car. The VX cruiser is your best bet, it does on road andoff-roadquitewell. On road because it has a wide wheelbase so you can corner at high speeds withoutworryingthat it will tip over (centreof gravity and all.} and off road because well its aland-cruiser. There is a special done by Richard Hammond of Top gear where he pits all 4*4s together and theland-cruiserVXAmazonwinsagainstthe trooper, range rover vogue, pajero etc. Look it up. If i find the link i will post it. Happy off roading. Kingz For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
