Does anyone really provide 128KB/s in Kenya or is it all just a load of Bull? Were just testing the new service from a provider ( NO Names given ) who claim to hand us a 128KB/S Fibre connection and i'm downloading at 10Kb/s.

I've trying understanding what the logic of this situation is. I've also tried to figure out whether there's a contention here that i should be considering but i called the support line and got this as an answer.

You are on the 128 KiloByte Fiber Line.

I can relate if this is being referred to as the connection between me and the service provider. I explained this to him as well. I also asked him whether we were connected to him with a 128 KB line and thereafter having to share the connection with a multitude of users.

His response was one and one alone. You're on a one to one contention, we don't allow sharing between you and us. I again tried to explain to him that with a one to one contention between him and me, it wouldn't make a difference if after getting to his server / router, my bandwidth was being rationed. He stood firm in his argument.

I ran a bandwidth test on CNET, got a 109 kb/s which i would like to believe is Kilo Bits / s not KiloBytes.

If someone ( I Believe alot of people do ) has a clearer view on this, please shed some light.

I am a lost sheep at the moment.
