Samsung Galaxy S III has sold about 20 million phones in around 4 months. The iPhone 5 will see than in the first 2 weeks. If you have an iPhone 4S, probably there is no need to upgrade to iPhone 5, you can wait until next year for a refreshed iPhone 5S or whatever it will be called. But the timing for iPhone 5 is perfect for most people who bought the iPhone 3GS 3 years ago. Majority of non-new buyers will be upgrading from the iPhone 3GS and some from iPhone 4. Samsung is still not yet at a stage where they can compete with Apple. It will take sometime if that will ever happen. But I am not saying Samsung products are not good, I believe they have some of the best Android devices out there. The truth is just Samsung and Android can't just compete with Apple. Samsung has a lead of devices sold, but Apple has a lead on the profits, in fact like 70% of all smart-phone profits go to Apple. These are the metrics that matter. It is just like how GM sometimes ago had the largest revenue but zero profits. Revenue leads nowhere, profits do. And Samsung is the kind of revenue and units sold.
