I met the same while I was headed to deposit, First there was never a notice you walk in and bounce on IT so I decided to go register. Anyone read the terms in the form ... that scared me I actually left the bank without depositing and took my money elsewhere. The terms give equity the right to use the Biometric data however they deem appropriate I did not agree with that because the word appropriate is relative. Several questions came to my mind too, so with this how will be my wife walking into the hall and conduct transaction on my behalf... Does really Equity's fraud lie in the person coming to the teller or the people behind the teller glass ... May be it will make the service fast but fraud?????? Meanwhile their nemesis was more open to ideas, and they have got closer to slaying the dragon of internal fraud. Its a good move, especially as far as protecting customer money. But bulk of fraud by employees (politically incorrect - theft by servant) happens around FX and FT processes; and enabled by loopholes in CBS.On Tue, Oct 6, 2015 at 7:48 AM, Jared Koyier via skunkworks <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:Mike, from this article, the Israelis were concerned with the encryption and storage. Unless you are in the know the sort of encryption and storage Equity has deployed you can't compare the two scenarios. The other point is suppose Equity stores the biometric data with similar standards as their other bank customer records, then it would follow that Equity bank is a risky affair!! Biometric authentication adds a layer of security which is a good thing, they probably need to add it to all their doors so that they don't loose 30m from fake auditors with kitchen knives.
