Disclaimer, i dont work there,
This is what happens with banks; when u open an account with bank X, in this case coop, they get all ur details in hard copy. They input all the soft details like name, address, etc as u wait to be allocated an acc number. Details like signatures, thumb prints, etc are sent to their head offices for scanning then distributed to their branches for updating. This physical movement of your signature takes time.

I was always been reffered to my home branch (Eldoret) to 'take a photo' every time I was signing a banker's cheque. Sometimes they would just be honest and say 'it's your signature boss'. Having opened my account in 2002, dont you think this 'physical movement' of my details has taken a bit too long ?
