It is this argument that I think is deeply flawed. Most guys out of college do not know what they want in life especially those without proper guidance. All they need is a job to start with. Again a good percentage of people we refer to as successful had to dabble with several things before they discovered what they are __really_good__ at, what people refer to as passion. To be objective, look at all fields especially those outside I.T. Take the instance of Tim Berner Lee, a particle Physicist who invented the World wide web at CERN. Forgive the bias.

I cannot remember where I read this, but the above factor "Follow your passion mentality the rest will follow" is what leads to a lot of frustrated individuals at the work place. We from the "generation Y" feel we are entitled to a lot (big jobs, pay, cars, houses, etc) from the "would out there" since this is what our education system instills in us. I think this also leads to the highly consumerist societies we have now.

This is crisis we have in upper institutions of learning.

Mine was IT, Physicist then Accounts in that order. Prioritize yours as well as you will pray to God.

Am still in ICT though and not done phy or acc.
