I agree. If Bharti maintain their 3 bob a minute stance, then Safaricom cannot raise it above that without seeming mean to the market. I dont buy that its expensive for them if the call rates are cheap. . Its like what happens with fuel efficient vehicles. reduced consumption prompts more travelling and net increase in fuel burnt. Same with calls. cheaper rates will encourage calls that would not have been set up before due to priority attached to them and thus more revenue for the Telcos.
I am willing to bet that safaricom will never go back to the KES 8
days, or anywhere near that, those days are soo gone and behind. The
ARPU Model is so outdated the Minutes of Use (MOU) will have to drive
their strategy going forward.
