
If the SMS came from a local content provider(CP), then its possible that the operator forwards MSISDN in the WAP header via the some proxy/WAP gateway to the CP. The AT command is feasible if its a modem but you would need some form of terminal for the AT command to run e.g. windows hyperterminal or linux minicom.
