Maybe then what google should have done is tell Ms. Jo Edon that jo.edon@gmail (and all possible combinations of the address + dot) is already taken and therefore the issue of multiple emails will not arise. This is a very big weakness, imho. So in the case of joe.don@gmail.com and jo.edon@gmail.com, who is the rightful recipient of emails sent to either?
