Maybe it is not the hardware.<br><br>It could be the Sybase. <span class="Text">I&#39;m not very familiar with Sybase , but think I have
heard that Sybase (older versions anyway) have a poorer table locking
functionality than for instance other DBMS has.<br><br>

Hi guys,<br>
i have a problem with a server where the server performance is<br>
unstable,one time it is good and the other time is completely slow<br>
causing the sybase server running on the machine to be slow too.<br>
On the hardware side we checked the RAM and the part numbers<br>
were:398707-051..im not an expert in hardware but can someone confirm<br>
to me whether this part number is certified for HP SERVER DL 580.Or<br>
what else could cause a new HP server to be so unstable in speed<br>
