About the LPIC-1 Certification
The LPI Certification Level 1 (LPIC-1) validates the ability to perform maintenance tasks with the command line, install & configure a computer running Linux and be able to configure basic networking. The LPIC-1 certification has two modules, LPI-101 and LPI-102. This course will prepare you for the LPI-101 exam.
Topics covered in LPIC-101 module include:
- System Architecture
- Linux Installation and Package Management
- GNU and Unix Commands
- Devices, Linux Filesystems, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard
At the end of the LPI-101 Module participants will be able to:
- Install Linux, making appropriate choices for disk partitioning
- Boot the system, change run levels, shut-down and reboot
- Work effectively at the shell command prompt
- Install and manage packages using both RedHat and Debian tools
- Manage, find, copy, delete, archive and compress files and directories
- Process text streams using pipes, filters and re-direction
- Manage processes and modify process execution priorities
- Search text files with regular expressions and edit files with vi
- Create partitions and filesystems, and maintain their integrity
- Control file access permissions
