anyways... I plagiarised featers from paypal and moneybookers in a php system I built.

However, I was quite the newbie.. it was vanilla PHP (no framework), and inherently insecure (I went only as far as doing mysql_escape_string()). & then i havent touched that code in 3 years.... it even had a merchant gateway (i.e processing from shopping cart to payment). it lacked actual "payment receiving" via mpesa or paypal

... and then i met this girl, and i havent touched that code in 3 years :-D

needless to say, coding up your own pesapal competitor is relatively trivial. even if you dont know how to turn on a computer, you could hire college students like me. The tricky bits would be meeting regulatory requirements, getting that paybill number and building consumer trust

anyways, unless you're in the business of payment processing, don't bother. just use pesapal... most people say its the best gateway in kenya.
