Oh crap, Stephen Elop was M$. MAybe he is a mole in Nokia who knows. Anyway seriously, Nokia seem to be trying to recover from their biggest blunder which was of trying to close developers to their old symbian system. They even purchased QT (A serious C++ IDE) and tried to encourage people to develop symbian in C++ with QT for Nokia. It seems like this was a mistake, maybe very few people were willing to learn the ropes of the new systems. Nokia have nothing to lose hardware wise. IF M$ doesn't work, they ll go Android. However, they will never recover the few developers the drop right now( both symbian and java devs). And this may well lock them in M$ Forever. Another unfortunate thing, theyve joined up with a mobile phone non-starter and this may actually drive phone users to android et al.
