Hi Watson, worldspace was on lower orbit satellites with wider beams ( channelband ) and less power( similar to iridium - now a new development for these for next year, thus LOS not necessary ). DTSV , especially on Ku band, is further away and needs critical pointing i.e El and Az. Corrections welcome. 2009/7/28 Watson Kambo <wkwats@gmail.com>
Aki et al ..,
There was a time I used to 'work ' with world space, its a sat radio for those who do not know, and they had this antenna that did not need LOS per se since it was made to receive from any face, DSTV Satellite is almost straight up while in Kenya so with this kind of antenna then it would be possible,,, by the way dont you guys love these mat guys they are so innovative first I see small tiny screens in mats then huge screens .. now I think most of these things should be done in kenya and how about Techies on this list comming up with solutions for these mats you would make a kill ... they spend alot on that stuff .... soon thy might request fibre into their mats hehehehe
