There is no ethics issue here. Why doesnt the guy of the website also demand that google, yahoo etc. to inform him when they crawl and index his website ...as they are also using his bandwidth ? If you put information in the public domain you have to be ready to have it used, otherwise don't have it public . Which is what the guy has done now (closed the website).
