Wash.. First off, what are the specs for the below: Vmware Workstation: Anything prior to v7 will not support Win2k8 Target Host specs Please note that you need to install VMWare Wkstation on the target machine (where you want to run the win2k8x64) then use the import wizard: [image: Import.gif] On Mon, Jul 5, 2010 at 10:23 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

I beg to differ with Amarjit on virtualbox being a better host.
We have been running a virtualization project for the last two years, and virtualbox failed spectacularly on Solaris: we lost money buying a legit version of vmware (but went baremetal on ESX4).
Wash, Is the VM workstation where you are transferring the win2k8 running on x64? Coz Vmware Workstation running on 32bit O/S will not accept a guest running 64bit.
I'd like to virtualize a Windows 2k8 x64 running on a laptop. I am just at the image creating stage. I need to create and stash the image aside...FIRST:-) That is what is failing when I am using converter.
