After discussions with Magutu on this issue, it boils down to a hardware problem and this is best solved by buying a new server since the one currently in use is way past its life time and was never server grade hardware. Since this group exists with no external funding/income/sponsorship, it would be nice if we could come together and donate for the purchase of a server grade machine - which am sure can be supplied by one of us at a reasonable rate. This is a personal suggestion and in no means an official one, just thought it might go a long way and in future, we can even start offering mailing list services on this server.

@Oketch, You should be in contact with Evans, he had some nice re-furb servers and very reasonably priced. Let us know the shared amounts, we can try and match them. I have only one problem with the arrangement. Future mail list services? Does it mean the server will be used to offer commercial services? -- ( the rise of Yoda! Ready are you?
